Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman XC2 two bike carrier on a 2021 Chevy Silverado. Now, right this way, you can see this does have a nice platform style rack. However, we do have a frame mount system here in the middle on our mast, so keep in mind, if you trying to transport any kind of carbon frames, this probably won't be the option for you. That downwards motion is gonna deteriorate our frame, so if you're looking for something to carry that, probably not the best option for you. However, it is a nice little system here. more

This is going to be able to hold up to five bikes with three tie down points per bike, but one of the main features that sets this apart from some of the others is it does allow you to tilt with your bikes installed. All you got to do is just pull this trigger right there and it'll lean on back and you can access anything that's in the bed of your truck.We are going to get a decent amount of travel out of our tailgate, but as you can see, we do have a little bit of contact that comes at the very end. It's not going to do any damage if you lightly set it there. more

And how to do that All you got to do is just press in this trigger and then you can lean it away. This is going to allow you to access anything that's in the bed of your truck. We do have a little bit of contact with our center mast here, but there is still a large amount of space to be able to get whatever you need out of the bed of your truck.And whenever you're done with that tilting feature, all you got to do is just lift this back up and it will snap into place letting you know it's nice and secure. more

One of the best features in my opinion about this bike rack is you can tilt it with your bikes installed. Just got to lift up on the frame here a little bit, pull this pin and it's going to tilt down, which is going to allow you to get whatever you need out of the bed of your truck.Keep in mind though, there is a tiny, tiny bit of contact that's made these little posts here. It actually fits into the back of this latch here. It does rub a tiny bit, but I'm talking just a tiny, tiny bit. more

You do have a frame hook up top here, along with two wheel cradles down below. They are a cam buckle-style strap down in this wheel cradle, and these are adjustable. All you got to do is just loosen those up, and they will be able to slide the whole distance of this bar. Hi there, biking enthusiasts. Today on your 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at Thule's Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack Hanging Carrier. What I really like about this bike rack on our Silverado is it gives us the option to take four bikes with us without taking up any of our truck bed space, so we can still fit all of our gear in there when we go on vacation.Each of the four bikes are held in place using three cradles. There's two on top and then one on the vertical shaft here on one side. The one on the vertical shaft prevents any sway, so that way there's no bike to bike or bike to rack contact. They're secured to the cradles using the rubber straps. more

A great thing about having a bike rack on your Silverado is you can keep the bikes out of the bed of your truck, so when you go on vacation you'll have plenty of room for all of your gear.Compared to other style bike racks out there, this is a platform bike rack, which will support the bike by the wheels. This is great for carbon fiber bikes because you don't want to support those by the frame, as it can potentially cause damage to carbon fiber frames. Platform bike racks are also easier to load than hanging bike racks because you don't have to lift them up so high. I also like the way that you can take off whichever bike you want in no particular order.On a hanging bike rack, if your bike is the bike that's furthest in, you have to take off all the racks on the outside to get to that one. more

So as you can see here, these are the straps that hold down your bike. There's two on the top and also there is an anti-sway cradle on the bottom. And as you can see on this one right here, you do have really nice grooves to be able to fit your bike cables and everything like that to protect it from hurting your frame.I'm going to show you how easy it is to take your bike off. All you got to do is just kind of pull on these rubber straps right here and they come off real easily. more

Thule Camber 4 Bike Rack Review - 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, everybody. Today we have a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, and we're going to be doing a test fit on the Thule Camber 4 Hanging Style Bike Rack.This is going to carry up to four bikes, and it's a hanging style bike rack with around three tie-down points. So, as you can see, there's two tie-down points on your top of your frame, and also an anti-sway cradle, which is going to basically help with bike-to-bike contact, and also bike-to-vehicle contact.As you can see, it has a protective rubber coating with these nice notches in here. That's going to protect your bike frame, first of all, and also you can fit your cables and stuff into this little groove here to protect your cables as well. It's a zip-tie style strap down, which basically you just press a tab and feed it through, and you pull it down to tighten.Now, let me go ahead and take this bike off for you. Like I said, just press in the tab, feed these straps through, and then the anti-sway cradle. more

That part number is RKY10002.Our first feature is going to be our tilting feature because we can do this with our bikes fully attached. We're going to pull out on our lever here at the bottom and tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Come to our tailgate. SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Series Crew Cab Pick Up, we're going to be test fitting the Sport Rack 3 Bike Rack with Tilt-Away Feature. That's Part Number SR2403 this is designed for 1 and a quarter as well as 2 inch hitches and we have a 2 inch hitch here today. We're going to start by feeding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, and aligning our pin holes. Once the pin holes are aligned we're going to thread in our anti-rattle bolt by hand. Once that's as tight as it can go by hand you're going to finish tightening with your socket wrench. Now that, that's tight we're going to give it a shake test to ensure that it's secure within the hitch, which it is. We're going to place our clip on the other side of that anti-rattle bolt. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab we will be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4-bike rack, part number S63380. You can also use this bike rack for 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. We'll go ahead and start by inserting the shank into the receiver hitch until our pinholes line up. Once they line up we can go ahead and insert our anti-rattle pin. Once we've got that hand tightened we can go ahead and take our wrench and tighten that down the rest of the way. By tightening it's going to prevent any excess rattle or wobble right there at the receiver. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab we will be test fitting the Saris Thelma hitch-mounted platform-style 3-bike rack, part number SA4239B. Now we can mount this on 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. We'll go ahead and start by inserting the shank into the receiver until our pinholes line up. We'll take our anti-rattle bolt and start hand tightening that. We'll take our socket wrench and go ahead and finish that the rest of the way. Once we have that in place we'll take our clip and put that in there. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab we will be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-bike rack, part number HR8500. You can also install this on either 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Go ahead and insert our shank into our receiver until our pinholes line up. Once we get those lined up we can insert our anti-rattle bolt and we can go ahead and finish tightening that with our wrench. This is going to prevent any excess movement right here or any wobble. Once we have that we can take our clip, put that in. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, 1500 series crew cab, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom tilt away four bike rack. This is going to be a platform style rack that's designed for two inch hitches. That's part number SA4414B. We're going to start by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch until the pinholes are aligned. Once they are, you can thread in the anti-rattle bolt. Once that's threaded in as far as it can go by hand, you're going to take your wrench out, finish tightening, ensuring that the holes on the opposite side of that pin are facing towards you, which will allow for easy placement of the clip on the other side. Now that's tight. more

Its part number is S64665. Now to begin our test fit we need to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we're going to line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. With those in line we need to take our anti-rattle bolt which is provided; we'll slide that in and we'll get in the right spot there, we'll just start threading it through. more

Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we're going to do a test fit on the Rhino-Rack Folding and Tilting Forward Bike Rack. This has been designed for use with inch and 1/4 and 2 inch hitches, part number is RBC044. Now you can also get this in a 2 bike if you prefer. That number is RRRVC045. To begin the test fit, we just slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of the hitch. We'll line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole. We'll then slide in our anti-rattle bolt and we're going to tighten that down with a wrench. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 model we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV. This is a 4-bike platform-style rack. They've designed it for us with 2" hitches. Part number on the black and chrome that you see here today is N105-107. This is also going to be available in a gun metal gray and orange; that part number is N101-103. To begin our test fit, need to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we're going to line up our pinhole with our hitch pinhole. more

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Titan. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They've designed it for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Part number on it is S63410. Now to begin our test fit we're just going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch, then line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. Grab our threaded anti-rattle bolt that is provided; we're just going to slide this through and begin to thread it in. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 model, we will be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing, a swinging 4 bike rack for 2-inch hitches, part number TH9027. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, holding out on the attached fin as we do that. We'll line up our pin holes, allow the attached fin to fall into place, and then tighten the black knob to engage our anti-rattle device and further secure our rack to our vehicle. With our rack in this position, we'll have about 15-1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our vehicle is about 1-1/2 inches, and overall, we've added about 11-1/2 inches to the length of the Silverado. Pulling the gray lever on the top of the mast will allow us to swing out our dual cradle arms. With our arms extended, we've added about 35-1/2 inches to the length of our Silverado. Now we'll ready for our bike. We'll begin by undoing our cradle straps. We'll then grab our bike, place it into the cradles, and secure it with the straps. more

Today, on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be test fitting the Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Rack for 2-inch hitches, part number S64665. Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. We'll line up the pinholes, thread in the anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a quick turn of the wrench. Be sure to insert your Cotter pin on the other side. With the rack installed, our ground clearance is about 15-1/2 inches. The closest point from the back of the truck to the rack is about 3 inches, and the overall length added to the back of our truck is about 11-1/2 inches. By pulling the pin at the bottom of the mast, this puts our rack into the platform position. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, we'll be test fitting this sport rack for bike crack for two-inch hitches. Part number SR2902. Let's get started by sliding the sink of the bike rack into the receiver. We'll line up the pin holes and thread in the entire rattle bolt, and we the quick turn of the wrench, we'll have it tigthen up. With the rack installed, you'll see our ground clearance is about 17 inches. The closest point from the back of truck to the bike rack is about seven inches, and the overall length extended to the back of our truck is about 47 inches. more

Now well go over a few clearance of measurements. We have about 16 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about 8 inches. Weve added about 38 inches to the overall length of our Silverado. more

To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our pin holes, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it with a wrench. In this position, we'll have about 15" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to the back of our Silverado is about 7", and overall we've added about 15" to the length of our truck. By pulling the gold pin at the base of the mast, we can tilt it away from our vehicle. This is going to give us full access to our tailgate. With the mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the gold pin at the top of the mast. more

Now well go over a few clearance of measurements. We have about 16-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is about 3-1/2 inches. Weve added about 20 inches to the overall length of our Silverado.We can pull the lever on the backside of the bike rack and allow it to tilt away from the vehicle. more
